HOW TO
Sugaring Aftercare: Face
You did it! Now let’s recover. You just removed hair from the root which leaves your skin
susceptible to irritation, so calm it down with the following:
For irritated skin, apply a cold compress on the sugared area.
I recommend ice wrapped in a washcloth to help remove any lingering
residue.
Apply post sugaring Calming Serum.
This aloe-based serum helps to soothe and calm the skin.
Keep it bare.
Avoid moisturizing creams, perfumed bar soaps, and deodorants on the treated
areas for 24 hours as they may leave a film on the skin that may cause ingrown
hairs.
Do not use exfoliating products for at least 24 hours.
Scrubs, AHAs, and loofahs may irritate the skin.
BUT Exfoliate between sugaring sessions!!!
Exfoliation is the key to sugaring success. This is the best thing you can do to
keep your skin soft, happy, and ingrown hair-free. Exfoliating every week will be
your best defense against ingrown hair and prepare your skin for the next session.
Be extra careful around the sun for at least two days after sugaring.
Your skin just got exfoliated and doesn't have its usual protection.
Don't touch!
Resist the urge to touch your freshly sugared skin for the first 24 hours and
don’t let anyone/anything else touch it (i.e. your hair, a pillow, your dog,
etc.).
Waxing temporarily opens your pores and makes them more sensitive to
breakout-causing dirt and bacteria.
Expect Slight Irritation.
It’s normal for your skin to be irritated for up to 24 hours after waxing. If
you’re fair skinned, you’ll probably be a little red.
Results the first time you sugar should last up to four weeks depending on how fast your hair
grows. Even after the first sugaring, you should see a noticeable difference in the new growth: ie
thinner, finer, sparser.
